All our soaps are handcrafted and made with natural ingredients which come directly from nature like plants, fruits and minerals. What is Saponification?
Saponification is a chemical process that converts fats or oils into soap and glycerol. We also use Lye in our soap formula. Lye, or sodium hydroxide, is an essential ingredient in soap making, as it reacts with fats and oils through a process called saponification to create soap.
Why a Cold Pressed Soap Process?
Cold process refers to a soap making practice and cold press to a method of extracting oil from seeds, fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Cold pressing is preferred because it’s a low-heat process, producing higher-quality oils, but in smaller quantities. The cold process that applies to Soap is a practice rooted in tradition. It’s also a process that emphasizes the absence of external heat sources. The result is soap, water, and glycerin. Cold-process soap has the advantage of a gradual, more natural chemical, resulting in a more nourishing, skin-compatible soap.
